Ezekiel 37:9-10 (ESV)
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
I was talking to a brother the other day and the Holy Spirit really spoke to us in a powerful way. It was an encouraging encounter during this time of waiting and uncertainties. Hopefully, this will be a timely revelation and a reminder to encourage you as well.
God was exposing to us a lot of things that happened in this world for the past year.
Locally in Hong Kong, we were suffocating and could not breathe from the tear gas and people were wearing masks etc in the process of protesting.
Globally, people were suffocating and could not breathe due to COVID19, the virus has a serious effect on the lungs. Nevertheless, people were suffocating in the lockdowns quarantine, finding it hard to breathe through family pressure and economic pressure.
Then the Black live matter movement arose with the situation of George Floyd groaning “I can’t breath”.
The whole world is suffocating of human rights, economic struggles, mental health, domestic violence, power struggle, political struggles, religious war, racism, sexism, sexual identities etc....
People are all suffocating one way or the other.
Jesus was suffocating on the cross and by His resurrection we got to breath again. Since when God breathed on Adam and we became the image of God and then sin crept in humanity and has destroyed that identity. However, by the power of the Holy Spirit we are born again and by the power of His Kingdom, resurrect us from the sin of death. He is breathing on us. He is raising an army of Kingdom breathers to breath His Words into this world . It was the week of Pentecost Sunday when the significant event of the riot started to happen in the US.
Through the back to back events, I sense that in these last days, God is showing us He is breathing His Holy Spirit into His people and resurrecting hope and love in this world so that His Kingdom is established!
While the power of the Holy Spirit poured down, God breathed on us. We are called to be “Kingdom breathers” breathing His breath from heaven and witnessing His power demonstrated on a daily basis.
I am so excited for this new era of living as the Kingdom breathers to see God's Kingdom established on earth as it is in heaven! Hallelujah!
Take some time to pause and close your eyes and say to God, “Breathe on me Holy Spirit” and then suck in the air through your nose and slowly out your mouth. Then slowly open your eyes and see around your situation through the lens of Jesus and His Kingdom as His breath penetrates in and out of me.
